March 27, 2014: FSIS Issues Public Health Alert For Processed Egg Products Unfit For Human Consumption: The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is issuing a public health alert because Nutriom LLC, a Lacey, Wash. establishment, declined to expand its Feb. 15, 2014 recall to include an additional 118,541 pounds of processed egg products for which there is reason to conclude that they are unfit for human consumption.
March 26, 2014: Oscar’s Smokehouse, Inc. Recalls “Eleven Varieties (11) Of Cheese Spreads” Because of Possible Health Risk: Oscars Smokehouse Inc. of Warrensburg, New York is recalling eleven (11) of its 7-oz. “CHEESE SPREADS” varieties marked with 3 digit lot numbers ranging from” 719-959” because they have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes:
March 26, 2014: Pure Edge Nutrition, LLC Issues Voluntary Nationwide Recall of Bella Vi Brand Products Due to Undeclared Sibutramine and Phenolphthalein: Toms River, NJ, Pure Edge Nutrition, LLC is voluntarily recalling one lot of each: Bella Vi Insane Bee Pollen Capsules, Bella Vi BTrim Ultimate Boost, Bella Vi BTrim Max, Bella Vi Extreme Accelerator, Bella Vi Insane Amp’d, and two lots of Bella Vi Amp’d Up to the consumer level. The products have been found to contain undeclared Sibutramine or a combination of both Sibutramine and Phenolphthalein through FDA laboratory analyses.
March 25, 2014: New Life Nutritional Center Issues Voluntary Nationwide Recall of Super Fat Burner, Maxi Gold and Esmeralda Dietary Supplements Due to the Presence of Undeclared Sibutramine and Phenolphthalein: New Life Nutritional Center is recalling all lots of “Super Fat Burner capsules, Maxi Gold capsules and Esmeralda softgels” to the user level after FDA analysis revealed the products contain undeclared active pharmaceutical ingredients: sibutramine, phenolphthalein or a combination of both sibutramine and phenolphthalein.
March 24, 2014: Parkers Farm Acquisition, LLC Issues Voluntary Recall of Products Due to Listeria Contamination: The Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) is alerting consumers to avoid eating certain peanut butter, cheese, salsa, and spreads produced by Parkers Farm Acquisition, LLC of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, after state agriculture department product sampling determined some of the finished products to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes bacteria.
March 17, 2014: Simply Natural Foods, Llc Issues Allergy Alert For high Levels Of Milk Protein In Simply Lite Dark Chocolate Bars: Simply Natural Foods, LLC of Commack, N.Y., is voluntarily recallingits 85g (3oz) Simply Lite Dark Chocolate Bar, because FDA testing indicated that bars from certain lots contained high levels of milk protein, while the label of the product stated that it may contain traces of milk. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk protein may risk serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.
March 14, 2014: Dole Fresh Vegetables Voluntarily Recalls Limited Number of Bagged Salads Due to Possible Health Risk: Dole Fresh Vegetables is voluntarily recalling a limited number of cases of bagged salad. The products being recalled are Dole Italian Blend (UPC7143000819), Fresh Selections Italian Style Blend (UPC 1111091045), Little Salad Bar Italian Salad (UPC 4149811014) and Marketside Italian Style Salad (UPC 8113102780) coded A058201A or B, with Use-by date of March 12, 2014 due to a possible health risk from Listeria monocytogenes.
March 13, 2014: Kirkland Signature Real Sliced Fruit Recalled Due to Possible Health Risk: Oregon Freeze Dry, Inc. of Albany, OR has voluntarily recalled 59,780 cases of Kirkland Signature Real Sliced Fruit, produced exclusively for Costco Wholesale Stores. In cooperation with Costco, the company issued the recall after determining the product has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.

Organics Voluntarily Recalls Limited Quantity of Two Varieties of World Baby Pouch Products: Plum Organics is voluntarily recalling a limited quantity of two varieties of its World Baby line of pouch products due to intermittent damage to the plastic spouts during manufacturing.
February 14, 2014: Kettle Brand Voluntarily Recalls Limited Run of Bakes Sea Salt Potato Chips Due to Potential Milk Allergen: Kettle Brand is issuing a voluntary recall on a limited run of its 4-ounce Kettle Brand Bakes Sea Salt Potato Chips because of potential exposure to milk-based sour cream seasoning, a potential milk allergen not declared on the ingredient label. The brand is recalling 144 cases as a precaution. The product was distributed to 12 customer warehouses that supply retail stores nationwide. This is the only item impacted, and there have been no reports of illnesses or injury.
February 10, 2014: Mars Foodservices US Recalls Infused Rice Products Sold For Wholesale Distribution –UNCLE BEN’S® Retail Grocery Products Not Affected: Mars Foodservices US is voluntarily recalling Foodservices UNCLE BEN’S® INFUSED® Rice products, which are only sold in 5 lbs and 25 lbs bags. UNCLE BEN’S® Brand Ready to Heat, Boxed, Bag or Cup Products available in supermarkets and other retail outlets are not involved.
February 6, 2014: Pro-Pet LLC Recalls a Limited Number of Dry Dog and Cat Foods Due to Possible Salmonella Contamination: Pro-Pet LLC, St. Marys, Ohio, has initiated a voluntary recall of a limited number of Dry Dog and Cat Foods for possible Salmonella contamination. A single field test indicated products manufactured during a two day period, on a single production line may have the potential for Salmonella contamination.
January 28, 2014: Pringles Issues Allergy Alert and Voluntary Recall of One Hour’s Worth of Production of Original Crisps Due to Undeclared Milk: Pringles is recalling a small quantity of 5.68‐ounce cans of its Original crisps. The crisps are being recalled because they may have been inadvertently exposed to seasoning containing milk, which is not listed as an ingredient on the label.
January 26, 2014: PMI Nutrition, LLC Recalls Red Flannel® Cat Food Due to Possible Salmonella Contamination: PMI Nutrition, LLC (PMI), Arden Hills, Minn., has initiated a voluntaryrecall of its 20 lb. bags of Red Flannel® Cat Formula cat food for possible Salmonella contamination. There have been no reports of illness related to this product to date.
January 22, 2014: Lochiel Enterprises Limited Recalls St Mary’s River Smokehouses Oven Smoked Salmon Stix, Chili Mango Flavor Because of Possible Health Risk: Lochiel Enterprises Limited of Sherbrooke, NS is voluntarily recalling56 lbs of ST MARY’S RIVER SMOKEHOUSES OVEN SMOKED ATLANTIC SALMON STIX, CHILI MANGO FLAVOR, because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and still births among pregnant women.

June 27, 2013: RECALL-Woodstock Frozen Organic Pomegranate Kernels-possible Hepatitis A: Scenic Fruit Company of Gresham, Oregon is voluntarily recalling Woodstock Frozen Organic Pomegranate Kernels because the kernels have the potential to be contaminated with Hepatitis A virus. The organic pomegranates are imported from Turkey. Products were shipped to NH, RI, CT and other states and may have been further distributed to retail stores in other states. The FDA and CDC have been conducting an investigation into an outbreak of Hepatitis A. The investigation initially focused on the Townsend Antioxidant Blend, which contains mixed berries and pomegranate seeds resulting in product recall. August 2, 2012: Wisconsin Firm Recalls Meat and Poultry Salad Products Due To Potential Listeria Monocytogenes Conta: All the products were produced between July 10 and July 16, 2012. The packages bear the establishment number “P-17256” or “Est. 17256” inside the USDA mark of inspection and have the lot number ink jetted on the package. The lot number is indicative of the products expiration date. For example, lot number “081912xx” indicates an expiration date of August 19, 2012.
July 30, 2012: Minnesota Firm Recalls Canned Chicken Products Due To Mislabeling And Undeclared Allergen: The product subject to recall is 12.5oz cans of Tyson Premium Chunk Chicken. The incorrectly labeled products subject to recall bear the code date of 8965 248A 12139 and Best by May 18 2015 ink jetted on the bottom of each can. Each label bears the number P65 inside the USDA mark of inspection. Correctly labeled cans are inkjetted with the code 1392TDM4600 and P65 beneath a Use By May 18 2015 date and are not subject to recall.
July 26, 2012: FDA WARNING-Shellfish from Oyster Bay, NY-possible Vibrio. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is warning consumers not to eat raw or partially cooked oysters and clams (shellfish) with tags listing Oyster Bay Harbor, in Nassau County, N.Y., as the harvest area, following illnesses reported in several states caused by Vibrio parahaemolyticus bacteria. Shellfish harvested from Oyster Bay Harbor have been linked to confirmed and possible cases of Vibrio parahaemolyticus illness. Massachusetts was included in their distribution list.

July 26, 2011: Multistate Outbreak of Salmonella Agona Infections Linked to Whole, Fresh Imported Papayas: The FDA is warning consumers not to eat papayas from Agromod Produce, Inc. a distributor in McAllen,Texas. FDA and CDC are investigating 97 reported cases of Salmonella Agona, including 10 hospitalizations, in 23 states related to the consumption of papayas. Agromod Produce, Inc. voluntarily recalled the papayas after FDA detected Salmonella matching the outbreak strain. The elderly, infants and those with impaired immune systems are more likely to have a severe illness from Salmonella infection. Consumers, retailers and others who have papayas from Agromod Produce, Inc. should discard them in a sealed container so people and animals, including wild animals, cannot eat them. FDA and CDC investigations are ongoing.

May 5, 2011: UNDECLARED ALLERGEN: Smithfield Packing Company of Clinton, NC and Tar Heel NC is recalling approximately 216 238 pounds of Portobello Mushroom flavored pork loins because some of the product may contain an undeclared allergen. The product was prepared using an ingredient blend that contained whey from milk, a known allergen, which was not declared on the label, the U.S. Department of Agricultures Food Safety and Inspection Service FSIS announced today. April 26, 2011: RECALL: Jonathan’s Sprouts of Rochester, MA is upgrading its recall of conventional alfalfa sprout products with a specific sell by date to include all of its alfalfa products, conventional and organic, with all sell-by dates, as a precaution, because it has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella.
